Sedimentary Earth Systems: Stratigraphy, Geochronology, Petroleum Resources
October 26-30, 2020, Kazan, Russia
The sedimentary basins of the past are represented by a very broad range of facies. The evolution of these facies reflects major geographical, climatic, and biospheric changes. Professor Nikolai A. Golovkinsky (1834–1897), a founder of the Kazan geological school and the author of fundamental studies on the geology and stratigraphy of Eastern Europe, was one of the first geologists to recognize the empirical rules of sedimentary succession and the lateral diachroneity of facies in sedimentary basins (Golovkinsky-Walther’s Law), which was a prototype of the modern concept of sequence stratigraphy.
The Young Scientists’ Summer School is aimed at teaching advanced interpretational techniques of geological, structural, stratigraphical, and geochemical analyses in shale-carbonate-evaporite petroleum basins. It is addressed at undergraduate, graduate and PhD students and early-career researchers.Dear participants!
Due to the uncertainty of the current epidemiological situation, the Organizing Committee of Kazan Golovkinsky Young Scientists’ Stratigraphic Meeting 2020 and Young Scientists’ Summer School decided to postpone the conference again.
The Conference and Summer School will be held from October 26 to 30, 2020. The Meeting will be held in a distance mode (online using Microsoft Teams software).Features of preparation and placement in Microsoft Teams of presentations-posters and presentations-reports, the order of sessions and oral online reports will be published on the conference website on October 1, 2020 in the Third Circular.
The Meeting will be held in a distance mode.
Registration and abstracts submission extended until September 01, 2020.
Proceedings submission also extended until September 15, 2020.
Language: The official languages for the scientific program and all the business of the meeting are Russian and English. Abstracts will be accepted in English. Oral presentations must be in English.
