Информация о Кафедре:
Образовательная деятельность кафедры включает обучение студентов всех трех уровней образования (бакалавриата, магистратуры, аспирантуры) базовым и специализированным курсам палеонтологического и стратиграфического направления.
Жизнь кафедры определяется тремя основными видами деятельности – образовательной, научной и хоздоговорной. Специалисты-стратиграфы высочайшего мирового уровня, входящие в состав НИЛ Стратиграфии нефтегазоносных резервуаров, участвуют в решении важнейших глобальных стратиграфических задач в рамках международных и российских проектов.
Палеонтология и стратиграфия – области науки, изучающие органический мир прошлого, закономерности эволюции отдельных групп организмов, экосистем и биосферы в целом, возрастные соотношения геологических тел и решающие различными методами задачи по расчленению, корреляции и определению возраста супракрустальных толщ земной коры.
